Scale pilots learn early on that it is more difficult to learn to fly slow in scale than to do aerobatics. The Bambi bucket makes this arduous task a lot more fun. This remote controlled, operating Bambi bucket works just like the full scale used to fight wild fires along the west coast.
Two sizes are available, 6" and 8" diameters, depending on the scale of the model helicopter and its payload capacity. A gasoline powered helicopter would have no problems with the 8" but a 60 glow powered helicopter might not be able to handle the weight without overheating which is very bad for scale helicopters.
The Bambi bucket is a great way to improve your flying skills and adds the difficulty of flying with a payload. The bucket is completely built, ready to install and has a loop connector built in that can attach to the Hoist Hook or similar rigid mount on the bottom of the fuselage.
The control cable is completely built, requiring no assembly.
A servo extension is needed to connect the bucket servo to an available 2 position switch channel on the radio system. All that is needed is end point adjustment on the auxiliary channel to set the actuator limits to avoid binding the servo. The servo comes installed as pictured only requiring the servo horn to be attached once the servo is centered. In no time at all you will be able to start practising your hovering accuracy to pickup the water from a small pool and dumping the water payload on a practise cone or marker.
As a safety warning, never attempt put out real fire using the Bambi bucket, but have a great time improving your flying skills.
