A Chaos and Piro Flip have only one thing in common throughout the maneuver. They both have the helicopter rotating about the yaw axis in the same direction throughout the maneuver.
The difference is the Piro Flip is rotating in the pitch axis in the same direction through the maneuver, while the Chaos rotates in the pitch axis for one flip, then rotates about the roll for one flip, then back to pitch axis in opposite direction for one flip, then finally rotates about the roll axis in the opposite direction.
They can look similar to each other unless you compare them side by side at the same time. The BLACK line in the circles below represents the tail boom. Notice that on both circles the rotate 4 turns in the same direction. However the Chaos on the left changes from pitch to roll during the maneuver after very single yaw rotation.
